Welcome to the Bedale & Aiskew Runners Club Championship 2026.
The committee are keen to encourage wider participation in the Club Championship for all our members.
The focus is on participation in events and to support this we have maintained the number of those races for both runners and walkers that are held “locally” and slightly increased the number of free to enter races.
We have maintained the simplified qualifying criteria for 2026 for the club championship, handicap and Nordic Walking championships and the range of races required to encourage greater participation and inclusivity. In addition, we have amended the parkrun championship rules to make this reflective of the great work our volunteers carry out on a regular basis. Here are the rules for the 2026 championship.

All competitions
What are club colours?
Club colours are registered with England Athletics and our colours are black with white strips and orange lettering, with the club emblem and club name. There is a choice of a club vest or a club t-shirt.
Note, multi-coloured club training t-shirts are not classed as club colours.
Who is eligible for the championships?
First claim members are eligible to compete in each of the championships
Do I need to register?
No, as a first claim member you will automatically be included if you compete in any of the scheduled races. The only criteria is that, you must have entered the race with Bedale & Aiskew Runners as your running club.
parkrun
Do you have to take part in parkrun on specified dates?
Yes, there is a published list for each of the championships. For the volunteer element, this will be calculated at the end of the year from parkrun official published results.
Do you have to wear club colours when volunteering at parkrun?
No, as the majority of volunteers will be provided with parkrun hi-viz vests.
Nordic Walking
Can Nordic walking poles be borrowed from the club?
Yes, for those who don’t have their own poles. Please be proactive and make sure you arrange to borrow poles in advance to avoid turning up to an event without them.
Is the championship calculated on championship position or age-grading?
The calculation will be the same as for the main club championship – based on time and finish position.
